Jaggery Powder

Jaggery has got better nutritional properties compared to sugar hence jaggery is more valued for its nutritional and medicinal value. Jaggery powder is far complex than sugar, as it is made up of longer chains of sucrose. The jaggery contains 60-85% sucrose, 5-15% glucose and fructose along with 0.4% of protein 0.1% of fat and 0.6 to 1.0% of minerals (8 mg of calcium, 4 mg of phosphorus, 11.4 mg of iron per 100 gm of jaggery). It is also found to contain traces of vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants.

Jaggery is a traditional non-centrifugal cane sugar consumed in South Asia, Southeast Asia and some other countries in Asia and the Americas. It is a concentrated product of cane juice and often date or palm sap without separation of the molasses and crystals, and can vary from golden brown to dark brown in colour.

We offer extremely reliable and simplified range of Customized Jaggery powder Plants. Being user-friendly and aesthetically excellent, these jaggery powder Plants have become one of the coveted choices in the market for hyginicity, manufacturing process and global market. We are introducing the latest technology like Modern & Fully Automatic jaggery powder Plants, VVS clarifying system and Multiple effect evaporation system to achieve the zero discharge norms. The well designed pretreatment and PLC/Controller based automation are done as per specific requirements

In view of this the proposed Jaggery powder project is being planned to fully utilize the by-products such as bagasse for generation of power.

Gur (Jaggery) is a traditional product of sugarcane. It can defined as a natural mixture of sugar and molasses’s forming raw lump of sugar with honey brown color. It contains all the minerals and vitamins present in sugarcane juice and that is why it is known as healthiest sugar in the world.

The quality of jaggery is influenced by the variety of cane grown, quantity of fertilizers used, quality of irrigation water and the method of processing adopted.

Hence, it is digested slower than sugar and releases energy slowly and not spontaneously. This provides energy for a longer time and is not harmful for the body. But this does not certify it fit for consumption by diabetics, because ultimately it is sugar.
Jaggery powder also gathers a considerable amount of ferrous salts (iron) during its preparation, as it is prepared in iron vessels. This iron is also good for health, particularly for those who are anemic or lack iron.

Again, jaggery powder also contains of traces of mineral salts (you might have experienced this, that jaggery powder leaves a hint of salt on tongue) which are very beneficial for the body. These salts come from the sugar cane juice where it is absorbed from the soil.
Furthermore, jaggery powder is very good as a cleansing agent. It cleans lungs, stomach, intestines, esophagus and respiratory tracts. Those who face dust in their day to day life are highly recommended to take a daily dose of jaggery powder. This can keep them safe from asthma, cough & cold, congestion in chest etc.

Taking into consideration demand for Jaggery, diversification of Jaggery preparation into liquid jaggery and value added organic jaggery will not only meet the local demand but also the growing demand in the export market particularly in middle east countries.
